In a way, Legoland is America.
Indoor Fireworks & Patriotic Builds
10 a.m. – 7 p.m., $15-$18
Legoland Discovery Center
598 Assembly Row
Take a break from the heat and sun to catch Legoland’s indoor fireworks display, which will play every three minites in Miniland, a Lego-sized version of Boston. Get patriotic and pay your respects to an Uncle Sam mosaic built by master builder Ian Coffey. It took 10 hours to build and is made out of 2,000 bricks, much like America!
Healing Hands Intensive Workshop
10 .a.m – 5 p.m., $10-$100
Center for Art at the Armory
191 Highland Ave.
The 4th of July isn’t always about celebration; sometimes it can be about healing. This daylong workshop features a number of healing arts like yoga for trauma survivors, scar tissue massage and music therapy. Scholarships are available. For more information, email Conny at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you can’t make the all day session, check out the indoor fireworks at 6:30 p.m. for a smaller cost.
The Four Legged Faithful Farewell Show
8 p.m., $10
17 Holland St.
There’s no better way to spend the 4th than at a good old Americana country music show. So says Johnny D’s website: “For a band without a drummer, The Four Legged Faithful achieve an incredible level of intensity using foot percussion and layered rhythms throughout every measure.”
2-8 p.m., Free
14 Tyler St.
It’s the season for picnics, and while brown bagging is always an option, sometimes it’s just not worth the trouble. That’s why Aeronaut Brewing is providing the suds for your picnic. Music led by The Thread City String Band will start at 3:30 p.m.
