Beer Me: A Local Brewery Update

The sun is out. The days are longer and warmer. The yard work is well under way, and all I want to do after dusting off the patio furniture is sit outside with cold beer and a good book. But while the fairer weather brings with it all those telltale signs of impending summer, this year is undoubtedly a lot different. In the time of COVID-19 many of us are looking for new ways to enjoy the simple pleasures and find ways to make the most of staying home.

We may not be able to gather around the bar this summer, venture out to our favorite local hubs, or meet up with friends in that one coveted corner booth to split a pitcher, but who’s to say the bar can’t make its way to us? Many local breweries are now offering takeout and curbside pickup inn response to statewide social distancing regulations surrounding the novel coronavirus and recent stay-at-home orders as well as delivery options to surrounding neighborhoods.

Editors Note: According to state guidelines, breweries will be reopening as part of Phase 2 which may be as early as Monday, June 15. Reopening protocols vary by municipality so be sure to check in with your favorite breweries to stay up to date.
