Growing a Habitat Garden
August 4, 2019 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm
Free
Join us to learn about growing a habitat garden—one that functions as an evolving ecosystem, supporting and representing the native species of flora and fauna of the area in which it is grown. A habitat garden provides the creatures in it food, water, shelter, and a nesting site.
This talk will also address the importance of gardening this way in an ever-developing city. We will walk through the Growing Center to explore what native plants grow there and we will conclude with a guided plant meditation. Leading the discussion will be Rebecca Sparrow and Abigail Wolf, a professional gardener.
