Scary Movie Night: “The Haunting” (1963): Somerville Reads 2019

October 23 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Free

Hill House had stood for 90 years and might stand for 90 more. Silence lay steadily against the wood and stone of Hill House, and whatever walked there, walked alone.

Get in the October spirit and join us for some cheesy horror fun. Come watch the 1963 film adaptation of The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson. We’ll have festive snacks and beverages for you to consume while being entertained,  if not frightened.

The Haunting, directed by Robert Wise, stars Julie Harris, Claire Bloom, and Richard Johnson;  runs 1 hour and 52 minutes.

This program is offered as part of the 2019 Somerville Reads campaign. Somerville Reads is a citywide reading initiative that encourages the Somerville community to read and discuss the same book to promote literacy and community engagement. For more information on Somerville Reads, please visit tinyurl.com/somreads or contact Julie at jwalker@minlib.net or 617-623-5000 ext. 2966
