The Balkan Beat Continues

June 2 @ 7:30 pm - 10:30 pm

$14. – $18

The Balkan Beat continues, with Gogofski playing the Burren back room, Sunday evening, June 2.  The evening will begin with a bit of listening music, while you get acquainted with your food and drink.  Then, dancing.  A dance leader make newcomers comfortable out on the floor, and show you what to do.

Gogofski brings you great music from the Balkans, from the complex dance rhythms of Macedonia to the heart-wrenching Sevdah songs of Bosnia.   Vocalist Kasia Sokalla graduated with honors from Berklee.  Clarinet player Dave Golber has studied for years in Macedonia.  Accordionist Gawain Thomas is a student of Bulgarian master Ivan Milev.  And Henry Goldberg is the drummer that the touring Bulgarian ensembles want to sit in with them.   www.gogofski.com

The Burren is at 247 Elm Street, Davis Square, Somerville.  Red Line to Davis.  Doors open 7PM.  Music 7:30 to 9:30.  $14 in advance, $18 at the door.  Tickets and more information at www.balkanbeatparty.com
