Dozens piled into Petsi Pies and lined up outside on Wednesday for the chance to recite digits of pi and earn free treats.
The bakery offered up mini pies to people who could recite 10 digits, large pies for 100 digits, and one pie each season for a year for 314 digits.
Somerville Public Schools had a snow day on Wednesday, which meant that many kids and teens could make it to the challenge. Rosie, 10, has been teaching herself the digits of pi for three years, and can recite 335 digits. Rose, 9, memorized 135 digits on Wednesday morning.
The crowd in the small shop applauded after each recitation.
