The city’s ninth annual Carnaval festival offered music, performances, food, and activities for kids in East Somerville on Sunday.
Carnaval is part of the Somerville Arts Council’s SomerStreets series, which closes down city streets for festivals. East Somerville Main Streets worked with the arts council to put on the festival, which ran from McGrath Highway to Lombardi Way.
Performers included the School of Honk, El Sistema, and A Nova Brazil. Esh Circus Arts, Parts and Crafts, Mudflat, and others offered activities.
