As of today, we have raised $3,566—meaning that we are about 70 percent of the way towards meeting our initial fundraising ask of $5,000.
We really appreciate the generosity of the community, and all those who have taken the time to sign up for #TheFrontStepsProject. Without you, this last week wouldn’t have been possible for us.
We’d also like to extend a thank you to all of our new Patreon supporters. All of you are making a valuable contribution that will continue to help us, both now and in the future!
We are about $1,500 away from our March need—meaning that we can raise enough funds to make sure our writers can get paid for the work they’ve done so far if 100 people donate $15.
But Scout is still in trouble. We have raised enough money to pay one staff member and to keep our websites on, but like all small businesses we are struggling to make ends meet. We are looking into alternate fundraising and relief methods for now to support ourselves in the future as well. We appreciate the community coming together to support us during this time of need!
If you have the means, please consider donating to our community publication. We want to keep telling your stories, we just need a little help.
You could even get a family portrait for a donation of any size. While the coronavirus outbreak has left all of us sitting inside, there’s still nothing wrong with walking to the front door. That’s where photographers like Adrianne, Sasha, and Amanda come in. They want to take photos of you from a safe distance (of about 10 feet) at your front door with your family, your roommates, your dog—anyone who’s been keeping you sane during this time.
You can also send a check to: Banks Publications – 519 Somerville Ave. #314, Somerville, MA 02143.
We are grateful for Cambridge Local First, and its executive director Theodroa Skeadas, who have been instrumental in helping us and other small businesses throughout this time. CLF has generously allowed us to use their website for our landing page for donations.
Send all news tips to email@example.com. We want to continue to support small businesses through this, and to continue to amplify their fundraising efforts as well.
