It may or may not be snowing for close to 85 hours this weekend, but we’re still picking the best Somerville events – if you can manage to get out of the house.

Friday, 2/6
Firkin Friday
5 p.m. – midnight, No Cover
Aeronaut Brewery
14 Tyler St.
We’ll be honest with you: We had to Google what a firkin is. Turns out, it’s a small barrel of beer that contains 10.79 gallons – or roughly a quarter of the amount that your average barrel would hold. Firkins typically house “real ale,” AKA beer that hasn’t been cold-filtered, pasteurized or carbonated outside of simple yeast fermentation. The more you know!

Saturday, 2/7
2015-2079: The Mars Research Era
6-8pm; Free
Washington Street Art
321D Washington St.
Presented by the CMMRT Memorial Foundation in collaboration with Washington St. Gallery, The Mars Research Era is a “collection of research, objects and experiments from the archives of the renowned Cavallero-McCool Mars Research Team (CMMRT).” Installation runs through February 26.

Sunday, 2/8
Local is for Lovers Valentine’s Market
10 a.m. – 3 p.m., Free
Center for Arts at the Armory
191 Highland Ave.
Haven’t picked out a V-Day gift for that special someone yet? (It’s okay, either have we.) Stop by the Armory this Sunday for a special Valentine’s Day market presented by Somerville Local First. The Sneaky Penguin, Somerville Soap Works, Next Street Living, Porcelain and Stone and way, way more artisans will be selling their wares.
