Somerville Mobile Farmers Market Kickoff
No Cover, 5-8 p.m.
Aeronaut Brewing Company, 14 Tyler St.
You read about the great work the Shape Up Somerville Mobile Farmers Market is doing back in our May/June edition, now join them as they kick off another year of providing produce to Somerville’s underserved communities! Conveniently, the event takes place on one of Aeronaut’s “Firkin Fridays,” so you can grab a growler to go with your farm fresh veggies and have delicious food and booze all weekend long.
U Mad, Bra? A Collective Bra Mending Event
1-3 p.m., Free/by donation
Parts and Crafts, 577 Somerville Ave.
Bras, brah. They’re expensive, and once their underwire is popping out or a clasp is shot they’re pretty much unusable, right? NOT SO FAST. Stop by the Somerville Tool Library at Parts and Crafts on Saturday for a bra mending event. Tool library staffers will be on hand to help out the stitching and fixing impaired, and they’re providing all the tools and supplies you’ll need. The event is free, though donations are always welcome to cover the cost of materials. Bra-vo, Parts and Crafts!
Mandorla Music Presents Kevin Harris & Steve Langone
8 p.m., $15
Third Life Studio, 33 Union Sq.
Pianist and composer Kevin Harris and drummer Steve Langone take the stage at Third Life Studio this Saturday, just down the street from where the pair brought down the house at the Green Room last year. Learn more about these musicians and grab tickets through Facebook.
Swinging Jam Session
6:30 p.m., Free/by donation
Center for Arts at the Armory, 191 Highland Ave.
Have a song in your heart you want to get out? Pop by the Armory cafe on the second Sunday of each month through September and listen in as the house band plays jazz and classic blues jams. Anyone who’s feeling to music is welcome to sing or play with the band.
