Get ready to “booze and schmooze” at Loyal Supply Co., which is welcoming renowned Cambridge artisans Jenny and Jack Milwid to talk about their 20-plus years working with leather, fabrics and metals. The full collection of goods from their line, the Infinite Series, will also be on display. Register for the event here.
Friday, 7/17 and Saturday, 7/18
6 to 10 p.m. Friday and noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, Free
The theme of this year’s ArtBeat celebration is loops, and this weekend musicians, dancers and visual artists will be offering their own interpretations and expressions of this concept. Join the Somerville Arts Council as they shut down Davis Square to all but pedestrian traffic so that more than 75 craft vendors as well as musicians and performance troupes can show off their work. More information is available on the Arts Council’s website!
Honeycomb Creamery Popup
1-3 p.m., No Cover
Davis Squared, 409 Highland Ave.
Need to get out of the ArtBeat heat? Cool down with deliciously sweet Honeycomb Creamery ice cream—they’ll be dishing out frozen goodness at Davis Squared from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday. This scrumptious, small batch ice cream company is based out of Somerville, so you can feel good knowing that you’re supporting a rad local business while you satiate your sweet tooth. Honeycomb’s full list of unique flavors, including cold brew coffee chip and horchata, is available here.
2-4:45 p.m., Free
Aeronaut Brewing, 14 Tyler St.
Drinking in parks: it’s fun, but it’s also frowned upon. Aeronaut has your back, and they’re letting you bring the picnic to the brew hall, where musician Ryan Alvanos and some friends will be providing the soundtrack to your lunch. Want to get in on the action? You can BYOBanjo as well—shoot an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and let her know you’d like to join in on the music!
