Drinking and drawing, celebrating mom and more Somerville events in this weekend’s Scout Picks.
Drink and Draw
7 p.m., Free
Comicazi, 407 Highland Ave.
BYO beer and art supplies to Comicazi on Friday night and draw up a storm. (Word on the street is that local legends like Ming Doyle sometimes make an appearance at these scribbling sessions, so if you stop by you might just see someone famous).
Armory Soundproofing Benefit Concert
7 p.m., $15
The Center for Arts at the Armory, 191 Highland Ave.
In case you missed our feature about the Armory’s re-soundproofing efforts earlier this week, here’s your reminder that they need to raise some cash in the neighborhood of $35,000. But you can help—and it’s as easy as stopping by their latest series of benefit concerts! The first show is Friday, and features the world music sounds of 35th Parallel, Goli and Esthema.
Free Yoga at Assembly
9 a.m., Free
Baxter Riverfront Park Amphitheater
100 Great River Rd.
Start your Saturday on the right foot with a (totally free!) riverfront yoga class at Assembly Row, where Some. Yoga. Studio will be on hand to help you unwind. The class is free, but you have to pre-register here. And if you can’t make it, you can always stop by next week—the class is offered weekly!
Mother’s Day in Somerville
