Valentine’s Day Three Ways

valentine's day

Ahh … Love is in the air this weekend as people around the world celebrate Valentine’s Day. Whether you’re planning on spending the holiday with the one you’re head-over-heels for, celebrating Single Awareness Day or just enjoying a nice Saturday with your family, we have the best events around town to celebrate in style.

Couples! Wolf’s 22nd Annual Mardi Gras Ball at Cuisine en Locale (156 Highland Ave): For those who are planning to let Valentine’s Day slide this Saturday, remember that (perhaps more importantly) Fat Tuesday falls just three days after! The National day of debauchery will be celebrated early at Cuisine en Locale with an amazing night of classic NOLA jazz and funk. The party starts at 9 p.m. and will go well into the night with performances by The Legendary Vudu Krewe and many more. Tickets are $10 and all proceeds benefit the New Orleans Musician Clinic.

Singles! Bumps on a Grind, Fairy Tales Go Burlesque at Davis Square Theatre (255 Elm St): The Boston Babydolls are back to celebrate Valentine’s Day in the raunchiest PG-13 way possible. Although it may sound like an oxymoron, the show promises to lead you down the yellow brick road in a series of romance-lust acts inspired by classic children’s literature. This is a performance you won’t want to miss and certainly won’t forget! All tickets are $25 and the liberation starts at 8 p.m.

Families! A Perfectly Unrefined Valentine’s Day at Taza Chocolates (561 Windsor St.): If you happen to be surrounded by your family on this holiday of love, there’s no better place to take the troops than to the Taza Chocolate factory. Starting at 2 p.m. the beloved chocolatiers will offer free samples of decedent French macarons from Northlight Baking Co., an invigorating cacao-and-coffee hand scrub treatment from Organic Bath Co., and tasty cups of hot chocolate that could thaw even the coldest winter chill. This relaxed and interactive event is open to the public and the perfect day for adults and children alike.
