Looking for something to do tonight, but still need to pinch some pennies? Head on down to Davis Square for the 11th annual Midnight Madness! Tonight from 6 a.m. ’til midnight, most participating businesses throughout the square will be offering some serious discounts in some very fun ways! Here are a few locations you definitely don’t want to miss.
Start the night out at Boston Shaker (69 Holland St.) where Privateer Rum will be serving up original free cocktails from 6-9 p.m. Pick up your favorite bitters or shrubs and when you check out you’ll be able to pick a coin, revealing what percentage of a discount you’ll receive!
Down the street is What’s-Nu (67 Holland St.). Make sure to stop in and check out three racks of amazing clothes, all 50 percent off. Additionally, the boutique is offering a one day promotion on Mosey Life bags, also 50 percent off.
Afterwards, head next door to Sunshine Lucy’s (93 Holland St.) where all the amazing and unique furniture in their store is 10 percent off. The beautiful store will also be playing festive holiday music and serving free wine.
Also, make sure to check out Davis Squared (409 Highland Ave.), who has invited two local jewelers into the store, as well as the Doves & Figs jam company, for smaller trunk shows. Look around and pick up all your stocking stuffers with 10 percent off everything in the store from 6-9 p.m., 15 percent off from 9-11 p.m. and 20 percent off from 11 p.m. – 12 a.m.
Celebrating both its first year in Davis Square and its first year as a participant in Midnight Madness is Evie Salon (57 Holland St.). The salon will be offering 5-20 percent off hair kits, blow dryers, irons, as well as blow-dries by staff. Make sure to get there early, since most stylists will only be there till 10 p.m.
For the action hero fan, stop in to Comicazi (407 Highland Ave.). Along with a local musician cranking out loud and cheery tunes, they are offering a complete set of 20 Star Wars figurines in their boxes for only $50. A perfect and extremely affordable gift for all of your “Star Warriors.”
If you need a longer break from the cold, visit Spoke Wine Bar (89 Holland St.). The talented bartenders have come up with a custom Midnight Madness drink called the “Curtatone Cocktail” in honor of Mayor Curtatone. A dollar from the sale of each drink will be donated to the Somerville Homeless Coalition (SHC).
The Nave Gallery Annex is back in Statue Park (36 College Ave.), where they’ll be hosting their Wrap Around Sale of handmade and crocheted hats and scarves. The artists will be there under a tent, so make sure to stop by and bring some cheery and festive warmth. All proceeds from the sale go to SHC.
Lastly, but certainly not least, stop into When Pigs Fly (378 Highland Ave.). This warm and tasty bakery is offering a unique discount deal; roll a dice from 1-6 and get 10-60 percent off a loaf of bread based on what you get!
Despite the colder temperatures tonight, Midnight Madness will be an amazing night of fun and certainly not something to miss. Any donations of canned goods and cold weather clothing for SHC can be dropped off at Thalia Tringo & Assoc. Real Estate (30 Newberne St.). Bundle up, get some hot chocolate, stroll through beautiful Davis Square and support our local businesses, all while saving a ton!
