Somerville Public School’s Food and Nutrition Services Department will launch its 2019 Summer Meals Program on Monday, making breakfast and lunch available for free to all youth under 19 years old.

The program is an effort to combat youth food insecurity while school is not in session.

Free breakfast is available at Foss Park Pool from Monday to Friday, served from 10 to 10:15 a.m. until Aug. 9. Breakfast is also available at Powderhouse Park from Monday to Thursday, served from 9:30 to 10 a.m. until Aug. 8.

Free lunch will be available Monday to Friday until Aug. 9 at Blessings of the Bay Boathouse, Dilboy Pool, Dilboy Stadium, Foss Park Pool, and Mystic Housing and Playground. Exact times vary depending on location and can be found on the Somerville Public Schools’ website

Additionally, lunch is available in several other locations on specific days throughout the summer, from 11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at each location. Hodgkins Park will offer lunch from July 1 to July 3, and Foss Park will serve lunch beginning on July 8 and ending on July 12. Somerville youth can find lunch at Lincoln Park from July 15 to July 19, then at Albion Park from July 22 to July 26. Lunch is available at Grimmons Park beginning July 29 and ending on August 2. For the final week, Trum Park will serve lunch from Aug. 5 to Aug. 9.

Due to the July 4 holiday, there will be no breakfast or lunch served on July 4 or July 5.
