Minted and Muddled
June 14, 2014 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm
FREE to the public, $10 suggested donation
Minted Music-Theatre invites you to enjoy some exciting new musical theater and art song by living national and international composers. Make an evening of it! As you listen, enjoy a light dinner, dessert, craft beer, or wine sold by the Café.
The Minted & Muddled Workshop encourages exploration of the creative process. Its primary focus is the development of works-in-progress through performance and open dialogue with the audience. The inaugural program in June 2014 will feature:
– “Jabberwocky” by Paul Osterfield
– “Songs of Love” by Paul Osterfield
– “A Prayer for the Living” by Joe Zellnik & Victor Lodato
– Excerpts from Gascony Guards – A musical play, adapted from “Cyrano de Bergerac” by Edmond Rostand by Sergei Noskov, Alan King, David Foss, and Anthony Hall
Components of the Workshop:
Minted – The performance. Our artists present a fully rehearsed, unstaged performance.
Muddled – Audience feedback. During development and rehearsal of a piece, we ask our artists to come up with specific questions for the audience. We also invite general feedback from the audience – what was successful, what was not, etc. Artists and composers then use this feedback to revise and further develop the piece and future performances.
