Lauren Pratt combines a captivating voice, haunting imagery and vivid narratives, all set against a rich panorama of Americana music. After leaving her home state of Florida to study classical voice at Belhaven University in Mississippi, Lauren moved to Nashville where she became part of a tight-knit songwriting community. She released two albums, Days Like Tonight and Live at Monster Studios, relocating to Boston after a catastrophic fire at her apartment building. She won the No Depression Singer-Songwriter Award at the 2018 FreshGrass Festival in North Adams, and returns as a main stage performer this year, alongside such Americana icons as Mavis Staples, Iron & Wine, Calexico,?and Andrew Bird. She also just released her third album, Young American Sycamore. With a personal mission of discovering the empathetic connection that exists between audience and performer, Lauren reaffirms her artistic roots and sheds the proverbial bark of the past. Susan Levine can break your heart and lift your soul from the wreckage within one smartly crafted moment in one of her songs.” (Tom Driscoll, The Red Door Coffeehouse) You might not find a straight-out love song in the multi-award-winner’s music, but you will find honest songs about the complexity of modern-day relationships, including the challenges and joys of single motherhood, the ambivalence of finding new love after heartbreak, and the search for grace in the smallest moments. Susan explores the emotional terrain of love, loss and hope with a poetic blend of folk, Americana, pop and country, and a voice that has garnered comparisons to Emmylou Harris and Dolly Parton. Since the release of her solo debut CD Atlas (2007) – described in the Boston Herald as “That rare album where a whole mind and heart are revealed” – Susan has not?stopped writing or ?performing.?Through a painful divorce, single motherhood of two young boys, her ?”day job” as a music therapist, and performing and recording as one half of Americana duo The Lied To’s (with singer-songwriter Doug Kwartler), music has remained her constant,?her way of processing and expressing her?experiences and stories from the world around her.? More at www.susanjlevine.com.

Beth DeSombre writes songs that are “smart and uplifting…focusing on the quiet meaning to be found in ordinary life” (Sing Out! Magazine), exploring issues from the personal to the political. Her music touches both mind and heart, with insights wrapped in melody and harmony that stay with you after the echoes of the last chorus have faded away. Her 2017 EP Resistance reached #10 on the folks charts (with two top-10 songs). This EP, with songs written in response to the current political situation, is a fundraiser for the ACLU. Her 2016 CD I Was Here, produced by Sean Staples, includes guest appearances by Tracy Grammer, Vance Gilbert, Laura Cortese and other music luminaries. She has performed extensively across New England, with brief forays further afield. Her songs have been honored in national and international songwriting contests. An award-winning writer in many formats, she’s just completed her eighth book, published by Oxford University Press. More at www.bethdesombre.com.
