Moment of silence planned to honor victims

somerville_shoesThe mayor and governor are asking everyone across the state to join in a moment of silence at 2:50 p.m. Monday, April 22 … the time of the marathon bombings.

The one-minute silent tribute to victims will be followed by the ringing of bells in Boston and other spots throughout Massachusetts. It marks one week since the attacks that killed three people and wounded more than 180 others.

“Mayor Thomas M. Menino, Governor Deval L. Patrick and One Fund Boston are calling upon Boston and all communities across the Commonwealth to join together in a Moment of Silence Monday afternoon,” the press release reads.

People are encouraged to donate to the One Fund Boston, which will support the victims of the bombings. Check out for more information.
