Scout Out: Foodie Crawl Seeks Volunteers

Picture 2           East Somerville Main Street’s annual Foodie Crawl is set to celebrate its third year this September, and you can be a part of the culinary celebration! Project assistant Nicole Bernstein is looking for volunteers who are willing to spend just a few hours assisting the nonprofit organization, which aims to improve the community through building investments, connections and pride on the main streets, run the highly anticipated event smoothly.

Volunteers are asked to fill in during 2-hour shifts between 3:00 and 10:00 p.m. in one of the following positions: set up, check-in, ambassadors, clean up and after parties. In exchange for their service, everyone who signs up to help out will receive a complimentary T-shirt as well as a ticket to the culinary adventure, which they are free to enjoy before and after their designated shift.

Over a dozen restaurants that specialize in fare from at least five continents are participating in the cultural crawl that spans the corridor on 0 to 200 Broadway. Sample the ethnic cuisines of countries like Ethiopia and El Salvador, then head to one of the after parties held at Casey’s, Vinny’s Ristorante and Fasika.
