Everything really is awesome: Hot on the heels of the news that “the Lego Movie” sequel has a title and a director, Merlin Entertainments announced yesterday that Assembly Row’s LEGOLAND is debuting a 4D film based on the movie sometime in 2015. LEGOLAND isn’t screening the full-length version of the film—instead, this will be a be a brand new short that reunites Emmet, Wyldstyle and the rest of their friends.
What makes this a 4D picture, you ask? The forthcoming short involves wind, water, smoke and special lighting effects in addition to your standard 3D glasses, meaning that this already fun and colorful film will be turned into a full-on sensory experience. No word yet on just when the 4D flick will make its way to Somerville, but we’ll keep you posted as we hear more (because your kids are probably already begging you to go).
And, while we’re talking about “the Lego Movie,” this gives us an excuse to post a video of our favorite moment from Sunday’s Oscars. Watch Tegan and Sara and the Lonely Island perform the movie’s hit song “Everything is Awesome” below.
